Protect your records first
Create a private backup regularly and before installing an update, changing devices, deleting the app, or resetting the device:
- Open My Profile.
- Open Backup and Restore.
- Choose Create and Save Backup.
- Review the backup preview.
- Save the JSON backup somewhere private and recoverable.
The readable backup can contain your profile, calendar, agreement acceptance, Work Logs, unfinished entries, settings, 301 Hours information, and report history. Do not put it in a shared or public location.
Restore a backup
Restoring replaces the information currently stored in the destination installation:
- Open My Profile → Backup and Restore.
- Choose Restore From Backup.
- Select a Reasonable Time Tracker JSON backup.
- Review the displayed identity, creation time, calendar, and record counts.
- Confirm only when this is the intended replacement.
- After restoration, check Profile, Calendar, Work Logs, Reports, 301 Hours, and any unfinished workday that should be present.
If selection is cancelled or a backup fails validation, do not delete the app while investigating.
If the app does not open or a record appears missing
- Do not uninstall the app or erase the device.
- Force-quit and reopen the app once.
- Confirm the expected employee profile and school calendar are selected.
- Check Work Logs for an unfinished entry and open it to continue.
- Check whether the record belongs to a different date or reporting period.
- Preserve the device and the latest private backup.
- Record the device model, iOS version, app version/build, affected date, action taken, and exact message shown.
Updates and TestFlight
Installing a newer build over the existing app is expected to preserve local data, but create a private backup first. TestFlight is Apple's beta distribution service; it is not a Reasonable Time Tracker account or data store. Deleting the app or removing a beta installation can remove local data.
Privacy when requesting help
Do not include student names, initials, identification numbers, diagnoses, evaluation results, or other information that could identify a student in the app or a support request. Do not send a backup, report, or screenshot containing private information unless you deliberately choose a trusted recipient and understand what it contains.
What support can and cannot address
Support may help document an app problem, explain an app workflow, or identify information needed to investigate a defect. Reasonable Time Tracker cannot decide payroll, legal rights, district approval, leave eligibility, 301 payment, or official employment requirements. Those questions belong with the employee's district or a qualified adviser.
